  • Appreciation Concert venue, Iwasaki Koyata Memorial Hall, was prepared.
  • The invited guests and government officials had arrived.
  • The audience were waiting for the concert to start.
  • Mr. Yasushi Akashi, chairman of The International House of Japan, made a speech on behalf of the concert committee.
  • Violinist Ms. Yasuko Ohtani expressed her gratitude before the concert begins.
  • The first piece "Air sul G" (Bach ⁄arr. Wilhelmj) was performed solemnly in a condoling tone.
  • Warm shower of applause rippled through the hall.
  • Ms. Ohtani came down the stage in an encore and walked between the audience while playing.
  • Ms. Ohtani greeted each one of the audience by the sound of her violin.
  • Mr. Seiichi Kondo, chief of the Cultural Affairs Agency, made a speech at the reception after the concert.
  • Lt. Gen. Burton Field, Commander of United States Forces, Japan and Fifth Air Force and H.E. Mr. Admiral Wasantha Karannagoda, Ambassador of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in Japan, and his wife.
  • Mr. Akashi (left) and Mrs. Konoe, the wife of the president of Japanese Red Cross Society (right).
  • Mr. Takao Abe, the mayor of Kawasaki-city, and the ambassador and Mrs. Karannagoda.
